Don’t Forget These In Your 2025 Business Budget
If you’re anything like us, you are busy getting ready for the holidays. We love all the Christmas gatherings we are catering this season! As small business owners, we’re also busy planning for 2025.
For businesses, this is also the time to finalize plans for the new year, including marketing, budgeting, and other vital business operational plans. Are your office celebrations not only in your schedule but also in your budget?
We love collaborating with businesses and organizations of all sizes to customize amazing catering menus and even host them at Piguet’s Prime Time. We think it’s important to budget now for your office celebrations, even though you won’t know the final details until the event gets closer.
Why you should plan now
We recommend setting a general plan for how each type of celebration will be handled and whose responsibility it is to manage the details. A budget should be set for each type of event so the funds can be allocated accordingly. Also, it’s always better to get a contract for catering and a venue sooner rather than later. Not only can it save you money, it makes it more likely that you will get what you want. For example, we’ve had about 40 special events scheduled for December! If you wait until shortly before the event, your preferred vendors may not have the availability.
Types of celebrations
What events in your business will you be celebrating, and how? Are some just a cake or will others require a meal? Will your holiday parties be at the office or offsite somewhere? All of these decisions will affect your overall plans and budget.
Here are the most common celebrations we see for businesses and organizations:
Team Events/Parties: Holiday parties, annual celebrations, or team-building retreats will all require catering, entertainment, and venue considerations.
- Employee Birthdays: Gifts, cakes, or decorations to celebrate individuals are all things to consider, and the celebrations need to be fairly equal for each employee.
- Employee Recognition: You will need to consider the cost of awards, plaques, gift cards, or certificates for achievements or milestones. Also, will there be food? Depending on the situation, you need something small or slightly more significant.
- Seasonal Celebrations: Depending on the office culture, you should consider various seasonal celebrations. Many companies combine their year-end celebrations with Christmas celebrations, but they also have small parties for other holidays.
- Special Occasions: This category is similar to the recognitions and can often include welcoming new hires, celebrating promotions, or retirements.
Do you already know what celebrations you will need and what you want to do to honor the occasion? We are here to provide custom menus that fit your budget and can be adjusted as the time get closer.
